Position: Youth Services Specialist II – Part-time (Temple) This position will serve Killeen, Copperas Cove, and Lampasas). Principal Job Function: The YSSII is responsible for providing STAR counseling services to at-risk children and families. Education and Experience: Applicant should have a master’s degree in counseling, social work or other human services field and one year of experience working with at-risk youth and families (it is preferred that the candidate is a licensed intern pursuing fully licensed status as a counselor – LPC, LMFT, LCSW, etc.). Status: Part-time, no benefits; 20 hours per week. Childcare Specialist - STARRY seeks experienced Christian individual for a full-time Child Care Specialist position with the Emergency Shelter Program. The candidate must truly have a passion for working with children and must be able to work a flexible schedule that changes each week to fit the needs of the shelter, some overnights are required. Principal Job Function: The Emergency Shelter Child Care Specialist is responsible for providing care to abused/neglected children. Candidate is also responsible for implementing the facility’s structured child care program and for providing an environment of consistent structure, guidance and nurturing in the emergency shelter. Education and Experience: High school diploma and one year of child care experience required. Bachelor’s degree in social work and Spanish-speaking candidate preferred. SAFE Case Manager Intern (2 positions, 1 bilingual) - The STARRY SAFE Program is accepting applications for a Case Manager Intern to help provide case management and crisis counseling to clients and families. The position is supervised by the SAFE Program Supervisor and SAFE Program Case Managers. This is a part-time position, unpaid. The Case Manager intern is expected to have a caseload of 2-3 clients and average a 15-25 hour work week, with schedule to be determined depending on schedule of intern and needs of team. Work availability should be included in application process. The position may require morning, evening, and occasional weekend scheduling. Must be available to attend weekly team meetings and case staffings. This position requires a high level of empathy, sensitivity and attention to the diverse needs of homeless and runaway youth. Essential responsibilities and duties include providing emotional, spiritual and practical support; interacting with runaway and homeless youth to offer services such as emergency short term shelter, counseling and services referral; providing crisis intervention services to runaway and homeless youth and their families; and providing follow-up and aftercare with clients, families, and placement agencies. Intern should currently be pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in a health and human services field and have one year work experience with at-risk youth and/or the homeless and runaway population. SAFE Administrative Assistant Intern - The STARRY SAFE Program is accepting applications for a bachelor or graduate level intern. The Administrative Assistant Intern’s primary function is to organize and improve the documentation, filing and resources for the SAFE program. This position requires a high level of empathy, sensitivity, and attention to the diverse needs of homeless and runaway youth. This position is supervised by the SAFE Program Supervisor. It is a part-time position and entails 10-15 hours commitment per work week. Schedule will be Monday thru Friday during normal business hours. SAFE Host Home - The SAFE Host Home Program has opportunities for Christian married couples to work as a team to provide a safe place for runaway and homeless youth to stay for up to 21 days. We offer case management, training, and counseling services free of charge. Family Life Coordinator – Seeking a Christian Family Life Coordinator for single moms in our Family Care Program. Responsibilities include managing the household and modeling positive family living to single mothers and their children. Family Life Coordinator partners with residents in developing, implementing and updating clients’ plan of service; maintains household budget, shops for the cottage and transports clients as needed. Bachelor’s degree in a human service field preferred, high school diploma or GED accepted. A good driving record and acceptable criminal background check necessary. This is a live-in position. Minister of Youth and Recreation - Full time position to serve on the Round Rock campus. Applicant must possess a bachelor’s degree; a seminary degree is preferred. Houseparent Couple - The Texas Baptist Children’s Home in Round Rock is seeking a married couple to serve as houseparents for eight children in our Campus Life Program. The primary job function is to provide a safe, secure and stable environment through daily supervision and behavior management of children/youth on a 24-hour a day basis. Responsibilities include managing the household and modeling positive family living for children and youth in a Christian environment. The couple in this position maintains the household budget, shops for the cottage, provides meals, and transports clients as needed.
